Why Bernewode?
’Bernewode’ is the old English name of the Bernwood Forest, one of several forests of the ancient Kingdom of England that were used as Royal hunting land by Anglo Saxon kings and covered over 400 sq km.
Bernewode refers to the area of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire where the forest was during the time of King Henry II. It’s boundaries today fall within the River Great Ouse, the Padbury Brook, the Claydon Brook and the River Thame.
Bernewode Home Decor is based in Grendon Underwood, Bucks in the heart of the ancient forest.
